Kitchen opening times:

We’re a village pub. Not a bar, not a restaurant, not even a gastropub, whatever that is. Just a great village pub – a cosy place where you’ll find roaring log fires, creeping purple wisteria around the lattice windows, muddy boots at the door, and local pub food cooked from scratch by the very brilliant Daniel.
We use the freshest fruit, vegetables (apart from our British frozen peas) and herbs we can get our hands on. Our head chef, Daniel Gibbons, swears by fresh, local produce and makes a mean Scotch egg with eggs produced from our own hens.
As our Buckinghamshire pub is set in the middle of England’s green and pleasant lands, we source our ingredients as locally as possible. Our cuts of meat are prepared by Woburn Country Foods & our ‘Pieminister’ pies are made of British Beef. We take provenance very seriously so that you can be sure that when you eat with us, you can do it guilt-free..
On Sundays, it’s all about the roast – proper pub food we believe can be enjoyed at any time of day, not just at the traditional lunchtime. We serve our Sunday Menu between midday and 5pm, so join us whenever you manage to change out of your pyjamas or finish your walk.
Here at the Cowpers Oak we are proud to be ‘Cask Marque’ certified. Meaning that all our cask ales sold on site are regularly tested and monitored on taste, temperature, aroma and appearance. Helping us to guarantee you a great and enjoyable pint every pour. So why not come and try for yourself.
Being a village pub, we stock the local ale. In this neck of the woods, that’s Hopping Mad’s popular brews, created just a mile or so away in Olney. Our other favourite is Woodforde’s Wherry from one of the countries finest breweries. On our other pumps we have guest brews such as Sharp’s Doom Bar and Great Oakley’s Gobble among our ever changing repertoire.
Lager fan? We have Kronenbourg 1664, San Miguel and Fosters on tap.
Having visited some of the world’s best wine regions, we aren’t experts, but we like to think we know a good wine when we drink one (we don’t go in for all that spitting nonsense). Come and enjoy our hand-picked selection along with some great pub food.
If you’re thinking of coming along to try some of our food & drinks why not familiarise yourself with our menus first.
